# Comments turned off

 * The comments turned off automatically and I dont know how to get them turned 
   back on. I went into the theme’s settings and thoroughly checked all available
   settings and the only checkbox for disabling comments is unchecked! what do I
   do?

 * Have you recently activated any plugins?
 * Can you verify that on wp-admin/options-discussion.php
    – `Allow people to post
   comments on new articles` is checked – `Automatically close comments on articles
   older than ## days` is either not checked
