# Comments Section Missing From Posts

 * Hello,
 * I just created my first wordpress website and am using the Shopfront theme by
   woocommerce. I have created my first blog post but there is not comments section
   showing up. I also use the postgrid plugin to organize my blogposts.
 * I have done the following steps to ensure that the comments is enabled but it
   still doesnt seem to show up:
 * 1) Enabled comments in the discusssions sections
    2) Enabled comments in the 
   screen options on the post edit page and also in the meta box below
 * Does anyone have a fix to this problem? I will be grateful!

 * Hi James,
 * Thanks for the reply. I have tried to use a different theme like Twenty Seventeen
   and the problem still remains. Do you know which php code I can check to see 
   where the problem resides?

 * Ok, then the comments are definitely not enabled properly.
 * Edit the post or page in question, and scroll down below the editor. There you’ll
   find this Discussion box: [https://screenshots.firefox.com/ZhIF9hmpjvAaDRcM/delta.jhuff.me](https://screenshots.firefox.com/ZhIF9hmpjvAaDRcM/delta.jhuff.me)
 * You’ll need to check Comments there and save the post or page to enable comments.
 * If you do not see that Discussion box, you’ll need to hit the Screen Options 
   tab at the top-right and check “Discussion.” This only enables the Discussion
   _settings_, so you’ll still need to go back to the first step and enable comments.

 * Thanks for the help thus far but as I mentioned in my first post, I have already
   enabled the comments in the discussions box.
 * I am suspecting it is a php code that I might have touched which might have triggered
   the disappearance of the comments box.

 * Ok, try [downloading WordPress](https://wordpress.org/download/) again, access
   your server via [SFTP or FTP](https://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients), or a 
   file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s
   documentation for specifics on these), and delete then replace your copies of
   everything on the server **except** the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/
   directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace 
   all of your core files without damaging your content and settings.
 * Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget 
   to delete the original files before replacing them.
 * If that makes no difference, what PHP code did you touch?
