comments popup link – add target tag?

  • Is there any way to add the target tag to the comments popup link? My page is set to base target=”_blank” however I want this link to open in the same window. Changing my base target is out of the question as every time I post a link to an external site I would have to modify the link which would get to be a pain. I like external links opening in new windows, as the whole idea to my site is to act as a type of portal. I wouldn’t want my readers to have to click that back button all the time. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • Well, I’ve managed to get around this by using the folowing instead:

    <a href="<?php comments_link(); ?>" target="_self"><?php comments_number('No Comments »', '1 Comment »', '% Comments »'); ?></a>

    That works. But now I have the same problem with the Categories link…
