• A teacher has a blog on our server. She is using the theme called “Music of Heart.” It is not allowing comments on pages other than the main page. There isn’t even a place to try to leave comments. Is there a way to fix this or does this theme not allow comments on extra pages? Thank you. Judy

  • log in to dashboard
    edit a page
    at top right click on Screen Options
    tick “Discussion” box
    scroll to bottom and you will be able to enable comments or not on any post or page

    I don’t see Screen Options. Do you think my version is too old? At the top right I have: Settings, Plugins, Users.

    When I go to edit a page I scroll down and there is a title that has Comments & Pings on it and it is a dropdown menue to “allow comments” and “allow pings.” Both are selected.

    Am I looking in the wrong place? Thank you.

    oh man – didn’t see your version number
    way too old

    most themes back then only allowed comments on posts
    you could add the code manually to the theme’s page.php after the_content() call

    <?php comments_template(); ?>

    man you really should upgrade

    We are finally going to upgrade in the near future. Do you know if the new upgrade will work with the old themes or will teachers have to use new themes (which means I have to upload new ones to our server)? Thank you.

    check with the theme authors to see if they have stayed updated
    if not – it will be new themes
