Support » Fixing WordPress » Comments on a password-protected website

  • When someone posts a comment, does automatically ask for their name and e-mail, so we all know who it’s from?

I want to set up a private blog with access by invitation only. It needs to be really simple for invited friends to access. Some would even be frightened off by having to register with so I won’t be able to host the site there.

Instead, I hope to install WordPress on the webspace I have from my ISP. Apparently I can password-protect any folder there, so I plan to give everyone the same password.

As instructed in documentation, I’ve checked the account supports PHP 4.2,MySQL 4.0 and the mod_rewrite Apache module and was told,

Your account will support this without any problems.
You will need to upload this to our CCGi service.

    … whatever that means!

    Thanks for help.
