I just upgraded to 2.0.6. I want all comments to be moderated.

    * I have checked the boxes that say:
    # An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below)
    # Comment author must fill out name and e-mail

    * I have set comment moderation to zero links

    * I have checked
    # A comment is held for moderation

Yet, all comments are STILL going up without moderation.

I was having one heck of a time with spam. I activated Akismet and we’ll see what happens. So far so good there.

But I can’t get those comments to be held.

Any idea? Any??? This has been a problem that has plagued me for quite some time.

Is there some sort of cache or something that needs to be cleared? I’ve tried updating the permalink structure too.

Note: we don’t want to require someone to have to be registered and logged in, so that box is not checked.

We just want ALL comments to be held for moderation.

Any ideas, help and or miracle to be worked will be deeply appreciated!

  • Sounds like trackback spam. A quick search should result in some options.

This is not trackback spam. Someone actually posts a comment on the site. It is supposed to be held for moderation, but the comments are not being held.

this is quite frustrating because I cannot find a way to ensure that comments are held.

It looks as if I may have found a solution.
I am using Akismet for blocking spam, and it seems to be working well.

I also had lr2spam and spam assassin installed. I disabled both – after reading another thread – and the comment moderation is working.

Just to be sure I added the 250 most used words to the comment moderation word list. ;P
