Comments Not Being Accepted

  • Since I upgraded to WordPress 2.0, my comments haven’t been taking. The comments page comes up and you can enter all your information, but then when you submit it, you get the following error:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_new_comment() in /mysite.com/wp-comments-post.php on line 51

    In the wp-comments-post.php file, line 51 reads: wp_new_comment( $commentdata );

    How can I fix this?

  • For what it’s worth, I got it fixed. Apparently, there was a file in wp-includes called comment-functions.php that somehow didn’t get upgraded when I copied all the files as I upgraded to 2.0.1 from 1.5. The file size and the date were both different, so that was a tip-off.

    I’m having the same problem: comments are not being posted since I upgraded to V2.02. My includes directory is up-to-date though. When a comment is posted, mysite.com/weblog/wp-comments-post.php is displayed… but shows a blank page.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
