Comments issue – unable to turn them off completely

    Hello,
    My site http://irctc-pnr-status.com/ is running on wordpress 4. Eversince I launched it I have been getting plenty of spam comments. I now turn them off in settings but even after that I still get about 2 spam comments per week that I have to delete.

    What is the proper way to disable it?

    There is no way to globally turn off comments in settings. Even if you nix the comments code in a template, bots will still find a way to submit them. So go to the post/page editor and in quick edit, uncheck comments for each post/page..

    I now turn them off in settings but even after that I still get about 2 spam comments per week that I have to delete

    they may be trackbacks/pingbacks . You can also turn them off in the dashboard.
