Comments going to 404, but only for SOME comments (1 post)

Hi there! Hope you all can help me.

I just discovered (thanks to a reader), that on my MU site, if you comment with an invalid URL, it goes to a 404. If you comment with a valid URL, it's fine. Now, the reader just told me she "couldn't comment" so there may be another reason why they're crashing, but that's one I was able to find.

    My site is http://cottagemagpie.com/
    I have subdirectory multisite.
I have my wordpress files in a subdirectory /wordpress/

The URL it's crashing on is http://cottagemagpie.com/(subdirectory)/wp-comments-post.php

    For example:

Which is unsurprising, since that file isn't in that location. It's in http://cottagemagpie.com/wordpress/wp-comments-post.php.

But like I said, it works completely fine if you have a valid comment from a valid URL (I tried a valid URL with spam keywords and it didn't trigger the 404 situation).

If it helps, here's my .htaccess:

    # WordPress
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    # add a trailing slash to /wp-admin
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?wp-admin$ $1wp-admin/ [R=301,L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
    RewriteRule ^ - [L]
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(wp-(content|admin|includes).*) wordpress/$2 [L]
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(.*\.php)$ wordpress/$2 [L]
    RewriteRule . index.php [L]
