  • I just noticed that comments on my blog don’t work if the commentator’s email address is the same as the domain of my blog. Let’s pretend that my domain is mydomain.com. Sometimes I want to reply to comments and my email is me@mydomain.com, but when I submit a comment using that address, it just reloads the page and nothing happens. When I submit a comment using an email address on another server, it works fine.

I have comment moderation turned on, plus I am using Akismet and the Comment Timeout Plugin. Do you think those are the problems? Or is it a feature of WordPress?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Does this happen if you’re logged into the admin panel?

Hmm well I tried that and it seems to work. So I guess it only happens when I am logged out. It’s not convenient because I want to be able to comment on my own posts on public computers and not have to log in all the time. Any idea what could cause this to happen when I’m logged out?

    Any ideas? Thanks!

I’ve tried in vain to figure out this problem myself over the past few days, but am having no luck. Any help would really be appreciated. 🙂

I’ve tried in vain to figure out this …

dont s’pose you can elaborate, it would help us not to suggest things you have already done…

    what have you tried? specifically?

Oops…ok I’m so embarrassed. I just figured out the problem 1 second ago. It turned out to be Aksimet! I just happened to click on the Akismet spam section and sure enough, all of my comments were there. LOL. I didn’t think to click on it before because I was sure it wouldn’t mark my own comments as spam. Heh. Anyway, thanks for your responses! 😀 😀
