 * Hi i not did much work on my site and how have 19k+ comments all spam or most
   not checked all, is there a easy way of getting rid off them all.
 * Also how can i cut back on the level of spam comments i get.
 * any help would be great

 * I’d suggest you start by activating Akismet and using [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/cookies-for-comments/](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/cookies-for-comments/)
 * As for your existing spam comments, you may be able to find a plugin that will
   allow you carry out bulk deletions.

 * If you have access to the database, you could bulk delete them there. Or as esmi
   said, there are plugins that can do this.

 * (a quick Google search brought these up, I am more comfortable removing them 
   via phpMyAdmin and haven’t personally used these plugins.)
