# Comments closed

 * I am looking to turn off comments on some pages where comments are not necessary
   but when I do it shows
 * > Comments are closed.
 *  is it possible to remove this also…

 * If this is for [Pages (Codex link)](http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages), you could
   use what would be a “No Comments” Page Template.
 * Follow the instructions in the Codex for making a new page template (just copy
   your theme’s page.php and rename it, add the template name, etc.). Then edit 
   the new template by removing comments related code such as `comments_template()`.
 * If you’re talking about posts, then that could be a bit more complicated.

 * Ok did that, works a treat but now I can’t add the page to a category… I could
   add the post to a category but not the page… I wanted my page to show up in the
   column on the front page…
