Hey, I have just published a post today and all of my readers comments are going to the spam box. This is the first time that this has ever happened.

Please advise – this is the post:

What anti-spam plugins are you using?

Hi esmi,

I use Akismet. When I comment on other people’s blog with my URL of the that site – it also goes to THEIR spam box. I have since emailed Akismet, but had no reply.

Today is the first time that the comments on my blog have went to spam.

Sounds like some Akismet users identified you as a spammer at some point. You’ll need to wait for the support folks at Akismet.com to get back to you on this one.

Oh I see – it’s an Akismet thing and not WordPress. Do you know a temporary fix maybe?

You could turn off Akismet temporarily but you might also want to install http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/cookies-for-comments/ to keep the spam down to a minimum for now. You can keep the new plugin active when you re-enable Akismet too. The two work together quite happily.
