# Comments 404

 * When I submit a comment, I get a 404 error with a strange URL:

 * Can anyone tell me why, when I try to post a comment, an IP address gets tacked
   onto the end of the URL and the comment never goes up at all? Is this a WordPress
   issue or an issue with my host?

 * Could be a number of things. Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?
