 * In the latest nightlies, at least in Apr 1 2004, when a commenter only leaves
   a name, it is linked as “[http:///&#8221](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/commenters-name-link/?output_format=md);.
   If the commenter leaves a name and email but no URI, it is still linked as “[http:///&#8221](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/commenters-name-link/?output_format=md);
   when it should at least default to “mailto:”.

 * its there as it is becoz people dont like their email ids to appear on web sites
   coz it leads to spambots gathering them with led to spam… 🙂
    its there for a
   good reason! and as for default to mailto: is concerned, i had suggest no link…
