# Commenter Needs Repeat Approval

 * Hi Support
 * So I am running a book blog as linked.
 * I use the default commenting system (I don’t have anything like Disqus installed)
   and I have the it set up so that once I approve a comment, the person can comment
   without needing to be approved again.
 * I have ONE person who repeatedly comments (who I love engaging with!) who I need
   to approve every single time.
 * Why? Can I fix it?

 * This could be theme or plugin conflict. Try:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins
   temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere).
   If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic
   plugin(s). – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen, etc.)
   for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme
   functions can interfere like plugins). – If you can install plugins, install 
   [Health Check](https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/). On the troubleshooting
   tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for
   you, while you’re still logged in, **without affecting normal visitors to your
   site**.

    Thanks for the info! Would 
   you recommend trying Health Check first, since it won’t affect my visitors? Or
   should I just throw up a maintenance page and disable everything and try it the
   old fashioned way?
 * I have full control over my site – I don’t need others to do updates or install
   plugins.
