That functionality was not included in v1.2. It was only available through a third party plugin or hack. So, disable the plugin, or remove the hack.

Well I never installed a “hack” or a plug in. But no one can comment without registering and logging in. Are you saying that it is not possible to allow someone to comment unless they log in? As I recall, this is something that can be “turned on or off” via the admin panel in V1.5. Maybe it’s time to upgrade?

    Thanx

It was time to upgrade long ago. ^_- I can’t even list the amount of vulnerable security holes that you have right now by running v1.2.

David you’re correct it can be turned on or off.

    It’s been a while since I had 1.2 running but I think it’s under admin > options > discussion.

“Allow people to post comments on the article”

I am “wit chew”, manx! I shudder at the thought of how much damage could be done by someone using the information about contaminated chicken to create a terrorist threat:) But, anyway, point taken. I plan to perform the upgrade in a couple of days as I need to make sure I have a block of time to “focus” on doing it right. Thanx again for all your helpful advice…
