You need to change the code (unfortunately).
In news.php line 24, add ‘comments’
… maybe it was something I just had to do in the plugin, don’t know if there are others who need this feature …. hmmm ???
.... 'supports' => array('title', 'editor', 'excerpt', 'thumbnail', 'comments') ...

What a quick and easy solution 🙂
Thank you very much.
It works for newly added news automatically. For previously published news, need to go to Edit the individual news, scroll down and tick Allow Comments.
when the next update comes it will have comment feature so you don’t have to be worried 🙂
