    I’ve tried one so far, that just didn’t work with WP 2.3

    I’d like my users to be able to format their text.

    One I tried was this:

    I even added the code to Comments.php and activated the Plug in and it still didn’t work…

    Anyone got know of one that works?

    It’s 100% working on WordPress 2.3 also. I’m using this plugin for the last 2+ years on every release of WP.

    Okay, I’ll bite, how’d you get it to work?

    I even put in the code it wanted… and it didn’t work… I could have stuck it in the wrong spot…

    wanna help an idiot out?

    Hello, to let you work this plugin, I require some info about your present installation i.e. “how you installed it and where etc. all”.

    You can write here or on my blog.

    Saw this thread, and I’m having the same problem, but with 2.2. I can’t seem to get any of the comment quicktag plugins to display. I’m using WP 2.2.2 and PHP 5.1.6 with my own theme. I’ve tried the Comment Quicktags +, Comments Quickags-Reloaded and the above LMB Box Quicktag plugins.

    None will display the tags, but the LMB Box Quicktag plugin will however display a link for “quicktag” link, so know it’s trying to do its job. The link is flush left, so it was allowed to display, but not the buttons?

    I’ve deactivated my two other comment-related plugins, Cryptograph and Filosofo, but that did not seem to change anything.

    Here’s my code for the comment form (with the LMB function call inserted).

    <form action="<?php echo get_option('siteurl'); ?>/wp-comments-post.php" method="post" id="commentform">
    		<?php if ( $user_ID ) : ?>
    			<p>Logged in as <a href="<?php echo get_option('siteurl'); ?>/wp-admin/profile.php"><?php echo $user_identity; ?></a>. <a href="<?php echo get_option('siteurl'); ?>/wp-login.php?action=logout" title="<?php _e('Log out of this account') ?>">Logout &raquo;</a></p>
    		<?php else : ?>
    			<p><input type="text" name="author" id="author" value="<?php echo $comment_author; ?>" size="22" tabindex="1" />
    			<label for="author"><small>Name <?php if ($req) _e('(required)'); ?> or if already a member <?php wp_loginout(); ?></small></label></p>
    			<p><input type="text" name="email" id="email" value="<?php echo $comment_author_email; ?>" size="22" tabindex="2" />
    			<label for="email"><small>Mail (will not be published) <?php if ($req) _e('(required)'); ?></small></label></p>
    			<!--<p><input type="text" name="url" id="url" value="<?php echo $comment_author_url; ?>" size="22" tabindex="3" />
    			<label for="url"><small>Website</small></label></p>-->
    		<?php endif; ?>
    			<p><?php if (function_exists('lmbbox_comment_quicktags_display')) { lmbbox_comment_quicktags_display(); } ?>
    			<textarea name="comment" id="text" cols="63" rows="7" tabindex="4"></textarea></p>
    			<?php display_cryptographp(); ?>
    			<input name="submit" type="submit" tabindex="5" value="Submit" id="button"/>
    			<input type="hidden" name="comment_post_ID" value="<?php echo $id; ?>" />
    			<p><br /><p>
    			<?php do_action('comment_form', $post->ID); ?>

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Ok, now upgraded to 2.3.1 and still have the same problem. No tags from any of the plugins will display. Any ideas?

    Here’s your problem:

    Your code:
    <textarea name="comment" id="text" cols="63" rows="7" tabindex="4"></textarea>

    Correct code:

    <textarea name="comment" id="comment" cols="63" rows="7" tabindex="4"></textarea>

    Just replace your code with the above posted. And it should work.

    Thanks much Rok.

    Actually, the problem turned out to be the simple but elusive wo_head declaration not being called from the header.php. Anyone else having this problem or a general lack of css from plugins not displaying properly, make sure you’ve got:

    <?php wp_head(); ?>

    between your <head>…</head> tags in your header file.

    The plugin works for me with FireFox, but with IE, the plugin malfunctions. It shows, it works when the commenter first highlights the text and then clicks the quicktag, but not when they click the quicktage itself. For instance, when one clicks “bold”, the command <b> actually expands the button text. This is really strange!

    I’m having the same trouble, but I’m trying to install it in YATCP. Neither of the two solutions above are my problem. Any ideas?

    <p><?php if (function_exists('lmbbox_comment_quicktags_display')) { lmbbox_comment_quicktags_display(); } ?>
    <textarea name="comment" id="comment" cols="100%" rows="10" tabindex="4"></textarea></p>
    			<?php do_action('comment_form', $post->ID); ?>
    			<p>Comments are held for moderation if you are a first time commentor or if the comment contains more than two links.
    				<input name="submit" type="submit" id="submit" tabindex="5" value="<?php _e('Save');?>" />
    				<input type="hidden" name="comment_post_ID" value="<?php echo $id; ?>" />
    		<?php endif; // If registration required and not logged in ?>
    	<?php else: //comments open? ?>
    		<p><?php _e('Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.');?></p>
    	<?php endif; // If Comments are open ?>
