# Comment Numbering

 * I’d like to show the comment IDs on each entry I post.
 * Showing the comments the way I want is no big deal, but the problem arises with
   the actual numbers. The first number on one article is 8.
 * How can I get it to start numbering all over again for each entry?

 * I’m confused. Do you want to number by the comment id or the sequential comment
   number for that post? By what you’re saying, 8 seems to be the actual comment
   id in the comments table, which means that if you want the _former_, 8 is what
   it should display. If you want the latter, then the usual way to do that is to
   present the comments as an _ordered_ list.
