Comment notifications only to author of post?

    If I add a New Comment Notification to the Author role, will that author of that post be notified or will ALL authors be notified? (I’m looking for the former, which is what WP does by default…so I’m thinking this plugin would work the same?)

    Hi terriz,
    Thanks for your message.

    Better Notifications for WordPress is designed to send a notification to *ALL* users of any user role(s) that you choose, or you can choose individual users instead.
    So, for your particular scenario, no, it won’t send to just the original author. I’ll certainly consider this as a feature for a future release though.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

    I just figured out that I can get exactly what I wanted:
    – I notify a specific user (my comment moderator) via this plugin
    – I leave ‘Email me whenever anyone posts a comment’ and ‘A comment is held for moderation’ CHECKED under Settings > Discussion – and the individual author of that post gets notified too.
