I’ve been using the Underscores base theme
– Unfortunate, there is no “Underscores” or “Underscore” theme in the wordpress.org/themes/ directory:
– Since that is a commercial theme, we ask that you please go to their official support channel, so you can get support from the people who know it best.
– These forums are for free themes/plugins available in the WordPress theme directory at https://wordpress.org/themes/ and WordPress plugins directory at https://wordpress.org/plugins/. So please contact the developer/vendor directly for support with your question. You’ll be more likely to find a good answer from them, for they have the access to its code. Forum volunteers are not given access to commercial/custom products, so they would not know why your /custom/commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. Keep in mind we encourage you to use the official support venues, as it allows the developers to be aware of issues with their code. See http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Commercial_Products
@t-p, which might be fine if I could manage to get help over there. I posted here as a last desperate chance for any suggestions for this unusual problem.

We’re sorry you’re having trouble getting help. It’s ironic that many authors of free themes give better support of their work than some commercial vendors who get paid for their themes.
Besides guessing that the nav link is getting the current post ID incorrectly, there’s nothing we can do without access to the theme’s source code. That level of access is beyond the scope of these forums. What you could do is hire an expert to straighten this out for you. You can find qualified help a jobs.wordpress.net.

Okay, I have NEVER run across this. I am developing a theme locally, and ran into the problem that my comment navigation when clicking to older comments, leads me to another post’s comments (all the posts and pages lead to the same post’s comments). What?
I’ve scrubbed both the comments.php and functions.php back to the bare bones (I’ve been using the Underscores base theme), as well as deactivated all plugins. Yet, the problem still persists. I’m kind of lost at this point (as I haven’t been working with WordPress theme development long).
Help?
