# Comment Moderation Doesn’t Work

 * Hi,
 * I just installed WP 2.04 and am using the Kubrick theme.
 * In Options / Discussion “Before a comment appears” section, there is the following
   checkbox option:
 * “An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below”.
 * This is the ONLY option on that page that I HAVE CHECKED.
 * Nevertheless, WP happily allows anyone to post comments that are IMMEDIATELY 
   displayed – with a heading of “Your comment is awaiting moderation”.
 * There must be other people who have had this problem. What is the solution? It
   is possible that I am doing something wrong – but I sure can’t figure out what.
 * Thanks in advance for your help.

 * Only the comment poster sees the comment–no one else can, until the comment is
   approved.
 * To see this, use another browser to view the post for which you’ve just posted
   an unmoderated comment, and you’ll see the comment isn’t there.

 * **Filosofo** — Thank you, too. That was very helpful. That “feature” is not at
   all self-evident and very confusing for those of us who are testing to ensure
   comment moderation is functioning.
