  • The email notification for comments only works if the comments are unmoderated. If one has moderation turned on, a mail is not sent. Is there any way of changing this?

A mail is sent to the moderator, notifying him that there are comments waiting to be approved. In your WP control panel, click “Options” and then enter in your e-mail address where it says “E-mail Address (This address is used only for admin purposes.)”
The reason this is different, is if you have multiple authors. Each author gets notified of comments on his entries, and the admin gets notified of all moderated comments.

That’s odd. When I turn moderation off, THEN I get an email when a comment is submitted. If I have it on, I get no email. I just have to go and check on my own. Any idea what could be causing this?

Do you have it checked to notify you whenever there is a comment awaiting moderation? If you have everything checked, then you will get an email when it first comes for moderation, then you will get another one when you approve it.

I believe (don’t quote me on this) that this is a problem is 1.2-mingus and has (don’t quote me on this either) been fixed in 1.3.
