Support » Fixing WordPress » Comment hanging on redirect

  • WP 2.8.4
    Apache 2.2.3
    PHP 5.1.6

Just a quick question – all runs well, up until a comment is submitted. The comment is posted immediately after submittal, but the page hangs during redirect and can take up to 20-30 seconds before it finally redirects to the post (which is does so successfully). On a rare occasion the comment submits immediately.

I’ve pulled all plugins, reverted to the default theme, even reverted to the 2.7 http hack for SAG to see if that’d help and no luck.

Has anyone experienced this, and if so, do you happen to have a quick fix?

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi,

Remove all unwanted code from htaccess and have a check.

    Also check with this plugin:

    Shane G.

HTaccess is limited to the rewrite rules for WP and auth lockdown.

I added the plugin you listed and it hangs equally as long before redirecting to the page.

On occasion it will redirect back to the post very quickly, giving me false hope that I’ve somehow pushed the right button to get it to work correctly 🙂 Only to have my hopes destroyed.

Additionally, I forgot to mention, I changed to default links versus rewrite to see if the issue was in the redirect, and the same occurs.
