Support » Alpha/Beta/RC » Comment count not updated when import from Nucleus

  • I imported posts and comments from a Nucleus blog into WP 2 RC3. Whle the posts and comments were all transferred, the comment count for all of the posts is 0.

    I can click ont he comments link nd see the comments. Additionally, if I log in and choose to edit a comment, but do nothing butt choose save, the comment count for the post is updated.

    Is there any way to force WP to somehow recheck and update those comment counts?

  • I suggest you attempt the following:

    * make a backup of everything

    * save your database using Skippy’s plug-in

    * Delete WordPress

    * Restore database

    * Reinstall WordPress and point it to the restored database

    * Installation should cough out no errors, no import involved

    Any luck? Reluctance?

    Thanks for the recommendation.

    I just tried that. Unfortunately, it didn’t work.

    I’m guessing that the number of comments is stored in one of the database fields. By copying and restoring the database, that number wasn’t re-built.
