# Comment Count Disqus

 * Hey Ben!
 * Again, we’re obsessed with this plugin. So thank you. One problem we’re running
   into: we’re using disqus on our install and we’ve disabled comments to stop bots
   from posting junk comments back to our DB. Even though we have comments installed
   with the disqus plugin we’re not seeing our comment metrics display in our Social
   Metrics backend panels.
 * Any advice on what we could do to resolve this?

 * Do you know if your Disqus comments are being synced back to WordPress or not?
 * The Social Metrics Tracker tries to get the number of comments directly from 
   WordPress using the function **[get_comments_number](http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/get_comments_number)**
   which depends on the number of comments being stored locally in your WordPress
   database.
 * So in order to resolve this, you’ll need to figure out how to get Disqus to automatically
   copy new comments in to your WordPress database. I do believe the official Disqus
   plugin does this as I am using it on my blog and it seems to be working.
 * Perhaps you might need to re-enable native WordPress comments in order for the
   Disqus syncing to work? I’m not sure.
