• My comment box on my blog has totally disappeared. I’m not sure what I did or didn’t do, but I need it re-enabled. I’ve checked through forum and tried recommendations but no resolution. Can you help?

Hi @3dana, There’s three main places to look to see if comments are enabled:

    1. In your dashboard, open Settings -> Discussion and make sure ” Allow people to post comments on new articles” is ticked.
    2. On the same page, make sure “Automatically close comments on articles older than ___ days” is either turned off, or set to a high enough number (I think it defaults to 30)
    3. On each individual post that you want comments on, make sure the “Allow Comments” checkbox is enabled, check out the support article below and see the “Turning on Comments for a Single Post or Page” section for how to do that.

Thank you @dd32. I checked the three locaions to enable comments and they were all correct as you define above. I also read the linked article to see if there was something I missed.

I’m not a tech expert by any means, but I couldn’t spot anything. But does the following give a clue? The article mentioned WordPress inserts a text box under content on posts or pages where contents are activated. Mine are activated but still no text box.

Hi. Does anyone have other solutions? I checked the 3 locations @dd32 advised. Even though they are correct, I still have no comments.
