Comment box is not appearing for all the posts on the site and it’s not showing discussion checkbox under screen option for posts.
I tried to make a small change in single.php file “comments_template( ‘/comments.php’, true );” but it too didn’t worked.
I would be very thankful for any kind of help

it’s not showing discussion checkbox under screen option for posts.

When editing a post or page, hit the Screen Options tab near the top-right, and check “Discussion.” This will enable the Discussion settings below the editor.

More than likely, the posts missing comments just need to have their comments switched on. 🙂

    Hi,
All the checkboxes in DEFAULT ARTICLE SETTINGS are already checked.Even then it’s not displaying.

You need to check your comments template

Can you please share your code

The setting at Settings > Discussion only enables the *default* for *future* posts, it does not effect existing posts in any way.

For existing posts, you must edit them and enable the comments via the “Discussion” box below the editor: https://d.pr/i/rkQLw0

If there is no Discussion box below the editor, you must hit the Screen Options tab near the top-right: https://d.pr/i/sAl4j3

In there, you’ll need to check Discussion: https://d.pr/i/x5LUWQ

That will enable the Discussion settings box below the editor mentioned earlier.

If you don’t see that Screen Options tab, are you currently logged into the site as an Administrator?

That code is fine, so the problem still appears to be that comments simply aren’t enabled on the posts you’re referring to. Please refer to my reply above.

    Hi James,
I checked my setting. In screen options the checkbox are different for me than in the screenshot you shared. I am sharing the screenshot of the options available to me.Link to screen options You can also see in that I have no option like discussion so I checked comments there. Other settings seems fine. Can you please help what else could be missing.

    Hi james,
Now I got your point. Now, I have checked the discussion checkbox for the blog but still comment box is not appearing

Checking Discussion under Screen Options only enables the discussion settings, it doesn’t turn on the comments.

Next, you must edit the post or page you want comments to appear on and enable the comments via the “Discussion” box below the editor: https://d.pr/i/rkQLw0

Do the comments appear if you switch to the Twenty Seventeen theme?
