• I’m posting a call for a feature that would disable comments entirely. While comments can be useful for blogs, articles, etc, I’m using WordPress more and more for corporate and political websites, and a lot of my clients don’t want to bother with sifting through comments to weed out negative posts and spammers, and would rather do without them entirely. I can keep them from showing up on my pages by removing the comment code from my theme templates and deselecting “Allow Users to post Comments”, but that doesn’t stop spammers using SQL injection techniques from getting in and posting comments anyways. Anybody want to second this request?

  • Have you considered adding a blank comments.php file to your theme? Not sure how well it would work these days but I used that approach before in the past.
