• I have been unsuccessful disabling admin moderation for comments. I have the following setting in Dashboard>Discussion

    1. Comment must be manually approved is NOT checked
    2. Comment author must have a previously approved comment is NOT checked
    3. I boosted the Comment author must have a previously approved comment to 50.

Is there some other setting I am missing. I have it set that only logged in users can post comments, but I do not want to have to approve each comment made.

Based on the condition you have set, if someone does not have 50 comments approved, then his/her comments automatically get in moderation queue.

If the number is set to 0, then would it allow first time commentators to post without admin?

I must be missing something because it still is asking for moderation. As an admin if I visit comments I still need to approve the it.

In dashboard – setting – discussions

uncheck “A comment is held for moderation”

“A comment is held for moderation” is unchecked.
