Comment Author Link Problem

    I have a very weird problem I just noticed. For one commentor (and only one), WP is putting in a blank url link. This comment author does not supply a url, only email, but on all of his comments, WP inserts a url link. I’ve checked the database to make sure there is nothing stored in the commen_author_url field and there isn’t.

    Simply click on one of the post titles to see what I mean. When you see his comments, his name is linked to http:///
    I am verrry confused! 😕

    Note: I’ve even removed the part that puts in a link to an authors email (if they don’t have a url), but still the same thing happens.

    After checking some more, it is not only for one user. I ran a link checker and that was the only one it complained about.

    I went back to template-functions-comment.php from the 2-14-2004 build and that one works. There was quite a bit of code removed from that file in the build on the 17th.

    I’m having the same problem. What is the exact solution? Which code do I need to edit? I’m no WordPress expert:)
