Support » Installing WordPress » .com site overrode .org

  • I previously had a WordPress.com site (freshandfoodie.wordpress.com with a redirect to freshandfoodie.com) and recently purchased hosting via Blue Host for a self-hosted WordPress.org (freshandfoodie.com) site. I was working on the self-hosted site on the backend as I wanted it final before pushing it live. While working and installing JetPack, both accounts seemed to have merged and I can no longer access the self-hosted site. When I attempt to log into WordPress.org, it redirects me automatically to the .com.

Can someone help with this? I’ve lost my entire new site.

I wouldn’t have thought that JetPack would cause a domain name redirection to a WordPress.com account. Was your domain name properly pointed to the DNS of your Blue Host account.

Btw, you still have your database and server files in your hosting at Blue Host – not lost at all – so if you get your domain name properly configured to your Blue Host account, the information is still there.
