Column Short Code acting odd

I tried using the plug in Column Short Codes and it does manage the columns, but how does it work when the theme is set to use a sidebar on each page? Can the sidebar be shut off for pages? I use [one_half] content [/one_half] and [one_half_last] image [/one_half_last] and the image stays at the left like there is no second column. The sidebar ends up last below everything.
