    Dear WP community

    I recently joined WP and am designing this website

    I’m trying to make the 2-column body into 3-column. How do I manage this?

    Thank you

    Right now you have a “clear” div after 2 columns — that’s creating a new line.

    <div class="grid_2">
    <div class="grid_2">
    <div class="clear"></div>

    The clear class uses the clear property in CSS to clear floated elements:

    So you need to remove (or move to every third) those divs…

    You’d need to modify the template file — or better, create a custom template. For sure, create a child theme — don’t edit theme files directly.

    Just had a thought — that theme may have options for numbers of columns — so check on that before doing any of what I suggested. You may need to get help from the theme vendor as these forums generally support themes from this site.

    Thanks WPyogi.

    I’m just wondering which php file I can edit this.

    And I’m slowly trying to learn how to create a child theme, so thanks for your suggestion!

    I created a child theme in the file name style.css:

    /*
    Theme name: Monaco Child
    Description: Child theme for the Monaco theme
    Author: Charles Kim
    Author URI: http://brownacademyny.org/test
    Template: Monaco
    */

    @import url(“../monaco/style.css”);

    <div class=”grid_2″>
    <div class=”grid_2″>
    <div class=”grid_2″>
    <div class=”clear”></div>

    Once I upload that onto the theme directory, would that work well?
