Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
Sorting columns in the editor is possible in a similar way as before (just that there are currently no icons being shown, I’m working on restoring those):
Just double-click on the desired column header cell letter (A, B, C, etc.) to sort by that column 🙂
Best wishes,
Tobias
Hi again,
one more thing that I noticed on your site:
It looks like you are using the ezoic auto ad insertion plugin. This is not compatible with the “Table Features for Site Visitors” (like sorting, searching, etc. by the site visitor on the frontend), as it insert combined/merged cells into the table.
Thus, you would have to turn that ezoic integration off for tables (or turn off the “Enable Visitor Features” checkbox on the table’s “Edit” screen).
Regards,
Tobias
Thank you for the help on that.
I’ve removed the Ezoic ads from that page and made the invisible column visible. But it still doesn’t seem to have a search and sort function for visitors. Is there something else I am missing?
Hi,
it looks like you are using a “Custom Command” for this table, via the corresponding text field on the table’s “Edit” screen.
It seems that this has an extra ,
(comma) at the beginning or end of that “Custom Command”. Could you please check that and remove that extra comma?
If that does not yet help, please also feel free to use the priority email support that you have access to, via the email address that you can find on the “About” screen of TablePress.
Regards,
Tobias
I knew I was missing something. Those were commands I had set up under the old table format. I love the new look and options. It also seems to load much quicker.
.
Will we soon be able to ‘hide’ a column while still allowing our readers to sort and search?
Hi,
great to hear that this worked!
As for the “hide” question: Well, sorting a hidden column is not really possible (as there would be no visible and clickable column header), but hiding a column while having it searchable is no problem. Just hide the column with “Custom CSS” code (to be added to the “Custom CSS” textarea on the “Plugin Options” screen of TablePress) like
.tablepress-id-123 .column-4 {
display: none;
}
where 123 is the table ID and 4 is the column number.

Tobias
