Support » Plugin: TablePress » Collapse buttons appearing on desktop in Safari and Firefox

    Hi Tobias,

I’m using the function [table id=2 responsive=collapse responsive_breakpoint=tablet] and it all works well in Chrome however, I am getting the collapse buttons appearing in Safari and Firefox on desktop even if there is plenty of space for all columns to show ( have not checked IE yet). Any idea why this is happening? I have tried it without setting the breakpoint, but it makes no difference.

I removed all my custom css to check it with your basic css and the buttons still there so it’s possible Safari/Firefox is ignoring some kind of css rule.

Any way to override it via either php or css so it does not appear on desktop display?

    Daria

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

I know what you mean, and I have seen this issue before on other sites. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find an exact cause or fix for this, I’m afraid. It seems that Safari and Firefox are somehow calculating the widths in other ways, so that the JavaScript code thinks that it already needs to start collapsing columns on a desktop computer.
I’d love to have a solution myself, but unfortunately, I don’t know one, yet. Sorry.

(The breakpoint setting is indeed irrelevant here, as that only applies to the flip and stack modes.)

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks for letting me know Tobias. For now I’ll be using the scrolling option.
