Codex Trouble MT Import

  • Hello,

    I am trying to accomplish an import from Movable Type to WordPress, and I’m following this Codex:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing_from_Movable_Type_to_WordPress

    My problem was at first, I couldn’t even find the right php file, then upon believing I found it, I did a search through mt.php for the

    define(‘MTEXPORT’, );

    line to replace, and it’s not in the document.

    So what’s the deal here? I have the import.txt file of the MT blog I have, but I don’t know where to change in the php files, or if I just have to upload the txt file right now.

    Please help and thanks,

    Legion

  • Not only that but I logged into the Admin interface of our system, and it says just upload the file from my pc, or put it on my wpcontent/ directory and it will grab it from the FTP itself.

    Well I put it in the content/in here not in any specific folder, and that didn’t work. The file size is like 167 MB so it’s too big to do it through my pc Browse button.

    So if it’s just as simple now as uploading from the ftp, where do I put the mt_export.txt file in my ftp?

    ahhh!!! lol

    I figured it out, it uploaded all comments and entries, and categorized them properly, I guess I was hitting the wrong button.
