  • You can go in and put it back (I think it was a mistake hiding it… it’s one of the most important pages, and now you have to click one more to get there 🙂

    I snapped it back.

Template Tags “should” now be found under Themes and Templates. I’ll leave it there for now, but we are changing the Codex to make it more “user friendly” and this is a little part of cleaning up the clutter.

The term “user friendly” refers (at least in part) to providing quick access to those most used features (or in this case, pages). Template tags are a major component of designing a WordPress site, so a link to them should always appear on the main page if our concern is user-friendliness.

The biggest complaints we get are when people can’t find what they are looking for. And a page cluttered with links ain’t helping.

We’re evaluating the most popular pages and how to incorporate them into the new structure. There will be a lot of other changes in the Codex over the next couple of months, most for the better, and you’ll have to pardon the dust and fuss as we fix things up to make them better. Sometimes, it won’t be fun, but that’s the way of these things.

If you would like a list of all the articles on the site, to speed things up, maybe, there are two links: List of All Pages and List by alphabetic sorting.

When we get the new look finally in place, there will be more room for specific article links. Right now, we’re cleaning up what we have and trying to help the new to intermediate users. Advanced users, they KNOW how to find things.
