So changing the fields will give you all sorts of errors because you break the link with MailChimp. * Furthermore, it is never a good idea to change a plugin’s code directly because that would be undone when the plugin updates. So you do not need our javascript. But again, what you want to do would happen on the frontend so you do not need PHP hooks.
