 * Hello
 * I decided to sign up to the site because I’m having major problems with my site
   at the moment, and it’s getting a bit frustrating.
 * Firstly, I’m new to all of this, but have been getting the hang of creating a
   bit of code to put in the custom CSS folder. The problem I have, however, relates
   to the large body of code that should exist in the stylesheet folder, under editor.
   All the help videos on youtube show large chunks of code in there, and people
   adjust it etc to modify bits of their site, yet mine has barely anything. Subsequently,
   I can’t make changes to many areas of my site.
 * Does anyone know how I get this code?
 * Hope someone can help.
 * Cheers.

 * What theme are you using? Some themes use multiple stylesheets. In any case,
   it’s best to use your theme’s built-in custom CSS option or a [custom CSS plugin](http://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=custom+css)
   to modify your site. If you edit the theme files directly and the theme is later
   updated to fix security issues or bugs or to add new features, your edits will
   be lost.

 * I’m using the responsive theme.
 * I’ve been using the custom CSS option for most of it, but it’s hard to figure
   out how to build the code that I want in some cases.

 * One thing that may help is to get a web inspecting tool. I use Safari’s Web Inspector,
   but Firebug is another popular option. Check out this link for more information:
   [http://www.themesandco.com/snippet/firebug-best-spent-6-minutes/](http://www.themesandco.com/snippet/firebug-best-spent-6-minutes/).
   Some of the information in that link is specific to Firebug, but the vast majority
   of the information is applicable to all web inspecting tools.

 * Cheers stephen, you’ve been really helpful! I’m going to play around with some
   of this stuff and see what happens.
 * Many thanks.
