• Hi Daniel Bachhuber,
I am using WordPress version 3.8 with theme “iTheme2“. It is very much understandable that admins have power of adding co-author with your plugin Co-Author Plus. But i want every author in my website to add their own co-authors(yes all the authors know each other and wat to work as a good team) for their articles. How do we solve this problem? As far as assigning role is concerned, here is the screenshot for Author role management – http://oi44.tinypic.com/21329lv.jpg

Second problem: It is not showing up in the post preview or published. As an admin when i add co-authors(search as you type is perfect and the display box is fine) then the published or previewed post should show co-authors. I dont think it matters or not whether i use Fancier Author Box or not because i have tried disabling this plugin as well. I am sorry i dont even know where actually does the co-authors show up when i preview or publish the post so i am very much frustrated right now, i cant change theme and i dont want to delete co-author plus plugin.
    Your help is needed Daniel.

    Hi there:

But i want every author in my website to add their own co-authors(yes all the authors know each other and wat to work as a good team) for their articles.

The ability to assign authors for a given post requires the edit_others_posts capability for the post type. It appears your authors don’t have this capability. It’s the required capability because if an author can assign themselves to another post, they can edit it.

Second problem: It is not showing up in the post preview or published. As an admin when i add co-authors(search as you type is perfect and the display box is fine) then the published or previewed post should show co-authors.

It sounds like your theme needs to be updated to support displaying Co-Authors. Instructions on how to do so is outside the scope of support provided in this forum.

I’d recommend checking out this documentation, or hiring a developer if you don’t understand the instructions specified.

    Daniel, the problem persists.
I changed the theme nd still there has been no change as earlier i thought it was the problem in theme. Anyways, i am not going to change edit_others_posts capability for author. But the admins are also not able to show co-authors in the preview or published page.

Also, can you please send me a screen shot of any published page where there are multiple co-authors with your plugin co-author plus?

But the admins are also not able to show co-authors in the preview or published page.

If you can assign Co-Authors, but they don’t appear on the frontend, then you haven’t properly modified your theme.
