Support » Plugin: W3 Total Cache » CloudFlare through Dreamhost Cpanel or W3TC settings?

  • Is there any major difference in setting up Cloudflare outside of the W3TC settings? For example, I can do a one-click setup through my Dreamhost Cpanel for Cloudflare, rather than go through the hassle of activating the extension for W3TC and getting an API key, etc. for W3TC to use Cloudflare. I was wondering if there are any potential positive or negative outcomes with either configuration?

  • Yes you can without activate in W3TC. But you need ensure you hosting and/or you (when you try protect you server directory) whitelist CloudFlare IPs.

    Just to be clear…

The W3TC settings do not activate CloudFlare (you still need to signup for CloudFlare).
