    Hi sir,

    I have a serious problem recently with Cloudflare I think : https://community.cloudflare.com/t/everyday-unable-to-access-my-site/578230/21

In summary: Randomly, the site will be down with the Spam / Malicious IP error and everytime it temporarily resolved with Purging of Cloudflare cache.

Response headers when the site is down with the message was given in the Cloudflare forum post, and was told :

    I quote :

This here is the culprit. Everything works, until one person is blocked by your firewall. The block page is then cached by Cloudflare, as instructed by the cache-control header.

It looks like that header is added by the Super Page Cache for Cloudflare plugin.

You should figure out a way to not set cache-headers to your block page or disable the blocking mechanism.

So how do I resolve based on this ? — Not to set Cache-headers to the Block page. (Where one person is blocked by Firewall)

I tried finding the setting in your plugin but was unable to.

    Thank you.

    Hi,
This plugin doesn’t have any firewall, it is simply a page caching plugin. However, it seems you have some security/firewall plugins in your WP site, I suggest you remove the WP Plugin-based firewall and instead use Cloudflare WAF which is more effective than plugin-based WAF.

hmm, fyi, I have since done these in your plugin after last Saturday’s error again :

Do not cache : I unchecked – Is_frontpage (which was not recommended anyway)

Disabled Fallback cache. (i am not sure what this do?)

Ever since after doing the above 2 settings, so far the same error did not happen again. Still monitoring.

Yes, I am using Wordfence as well…. So you are saying just rely on Cloudflare’s WAF is sufficient?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
Yes, when using Cloudflare ecosystem, you don’t need wordfense. You can make any WAf rules in your Cloudflare and make then as stricter as you want.

I have temporary retained Wordfence first.

An update to the issue — It seems that after I unchecked is_frontpage from the Do not cache, the issue doesn’t happen already. (have enabled back Fallback cache)

Not sure why is that so? Do you have an idea?

If you uncheck is_frontpage that would tell the plugin to allow the fronmt page to be cached and as I can see your front page is being served from the cache. If you check that option, then it will tell the plugin to not cache the page of your website that has been set as front page in your WP settings.
