Cloudflare Integration and set-up

  • Hi, I just noticed that there is now a Cloudflare settings option within the latest version of W3 Total Cache. This looks great but I’m not entirely sure how to set it up properly.

Do I just need to enter the API and the domain name? Or do I need to get through all the set-up steps on the cloudflare website and change my DNS servers first?

I wasn’t clear if the plugin shortcuts that process and makes it unnecessary or not? Please advise.

    Thanks! Kyle

Signup at http://www.cloudflare.com and configure your Domain, DNS settings from cloudflare dashboard, Then input your email, domain, api etc to w3tc plugins field.

Thanks. I’ve done that and my site now doesn’t seem to be displaying properly http://www.movebeyond.net

Any idea what the problem might be??? It seems to be pulling in all the data from the database but not connecting with the theme data or css style sheet or both?

Further update. Just found this post on Cloudflare: https://support.cloudflare.com/discussions/problems/7371-the-look-of-my-website-has-changed-after-using-cloudflare

And I’m currently getting this error message in W3TC:

“It appears Minify URL rewriting is not working. If using apache, verify that the server configuration allows .htaccess or if using nginx verify all configuration files are included in the configuration”

As the article suggests, I’ve now set the minfiy settings to manual instead of auto and the site now seems to be displaying properly, although I don’t really understand how this affects the plugin/website performance.

@kylen20, you’ll want to make sure you minify files to achieve the optimal performance for your site’s visitors.

Frederick: should you use the w3tc minify settings and cloudflare’s autominify simultaeously? Does Cloudflare’s Rocket Loader figure in to any of this? Thx

No you shouldn’t use them, choose one or the other.
