Hello. Just started using the plugin. Very cool. However, I don’t understand how the plugin to the close the window, is any different than the visitor clicking on the ‘X’. Both are not ideal.

On the page that pops up, I have action buttons that link to an underlying pages. I didn’t have ‘open in a new window’ checked, so the underlying page opened in the same popup window. I got around this by enabling ‘open in a new window’.

Now, as another other posted noted…the popup window stays behind. It would be amazing if the popup window closed automatically when following a link that takes you outside of the popup page.

I have some budget left and I’m happy to make a donation if you can add that functionality in.

I don’t follow what you’re asking for. A link to the page might help, but it sounds like what you are asking about is far beyond the intended scope of this simple plugin and the use-case is very specific to to your site.

It’s actually a VERY common thing I’m looking for. For example, say you receive a Newsletter Signup pop-up. What happens after you enter your info and click Submit? The pop-up closes. It does not stay open and require you to click X or dismiss to close it.

OK that explains what you’re asking in a clearer way.

Closing the window on submitting a form would need to be handled by javascript attached to your submit button. It wouldn’t be part of the popup plugin.

Some of the answers outlined at this page might help: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8616334/submit-a-form-in-a-popup-and-then-close-the-popup

abhinav.kakku, This is a resolved topic and not related to your question, so you really should have started a new topic.

However, what you have asked about is not possible as this is not a lightbox plugin. As stated in the plugin documentation the purpose of the plugin is to open a link in a new browser window.
