 * Is there a way to turn off comments for all posts other than editing each and
   every one?

 * This would do:
    [http://wiki.wordpress.org/Auto%20shutoff%20comments](http://wiki.wordpress.org/Auto%20shutoff%20comments)
 * Set it to one day for the first day, then after that you could adjust.

 * Go to Admin->Options->Discussion and uncheck the “allow people to post comments..”

 * Andrea,
 * Thank you. I tried that one but it doesn’t seem to like WP 2.01.
 * Vaam,
 * That only seems to work for new posts from the time you make the change.

 * You do have to wait a few minutes for it to catch up. Or did it give errors?
   I know it works for 2.0.

 * I had to to turn off the plugin after activating it because of the error msgs.
   I didn’t realise that although it was giving error msgs it was also working.
 * Thanks for you help. I appreciate it.

 * But is there a plugin that works in 2.0.1 that does this? I would like comments
   to be open for a number of days, and then close automatically.
 * Ideally there should be an option to let some posts still have open comments.
   And the plugin should list all posts that still have comments open somewhere.

 * “I had to to turn off the plugin after activating it because of the error msgs.”
 * What kind of errors? If you look at the plugin file and see anything after the
   last php command thingy bracket, ( ?> ) then it’ll give an error, even if it’s
   just a blank space or carriage return. So double-check that in the plugin editor.
 * “I would like comments to be open for a number of days, and then close automatically.”

   Oyvind, that’s what this plugin does. You can set how many days right in the
   file.

 * Yes, great! But it just shuts off everything does it? I have some older posts
   I want to keep open.
