• Hellow community,
First of all, I would like to thank the countless people participating in all forums out there. This makes a great community!

I am trying to clone my WP Multisite (at root level) into a new subdomain. When I use Softaculous for this purpose, the cloning goes really well in a matter of seconds. But it does not work :/
I have read many posts about this problem, and each one has a different problem to make things more difficult.
I have tried (I am an amateur using WP for a year or so) to change the htaccess, wp-config, wp-option (had the old site) and nothing has worked.
Interesting enough is that Dashboard works perfectly, but the site itself is not found.
I have also checked the permalinks. They basically have the same structure as the root. But there is no option to change that.

(And when I was about to copy and paste some of the files right now, I just noticed that InMotion changed a whole bunch of things after I submitted a ticket yesterday !! Righ now two problems. )

The cloned site at the root shows up as multi site at the sub level as well. (Just noticed that InMotion tried to install WP again as single site).
    1) is it possible to clone multi-site from root to sub?
    2) what / where are the links broken to have access to dashboard both for the multi-site as well as the site itself but not have the actually site alive?
Thank you so much for any help.

After wasting a lot of time, I started everything as multi-site based on folders (not sub-domains) and everything worked as magic.
Wordpress multi-site of sub-domains is not ready yet for the majority of people. It is not ready out of a bread new installation.
If you have a deep understanding of WordPress, you will know how to map the sites.
    Otherwise, stick with folders.
