Clipper expired coupons not deleted and slow site

Hi,

I have a coupon website which now has more than 950 coupons. However most of the coupons are past offer date and no longer valid.

With the clipper theme there is a feature to delete the expired coupons automatically.. However the said cron doesnt seem to work.

What should I check to isolate the issue and fix it ?

Also recently I see that the website is very slow to load..

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
