Support » Plugin: Social Media Share Buttons & Social Sharing Icons » clicks to share via social media open a blank window

    Hi there,

I have the #2 option “What do you want the icons to do?” setup to simply Share on the social media platform of their choosing.

For instance: Twitter is only check-marked to “Tweet about my page” with the message I want in there. The problem is, since Tim doesn’t use Twitter, clicks to the main icon bring up a “page”: about:blank . . . only those that realize the tiny “Tweet” icon above the main Twitter icon can actually share it socially (via their own Twitter account with the message field available to them).

How can I make those main icons NOT open a blank page that is confusing to the masses? Thanks in advance for your help! Looks like a great plugin…

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I saw “mobile” but that doesn’t answer my question: which icon are you referring to – Facebook? Twitter? Etc. I don’t recognize “Open” and “Save Image”, also don’t see that on mobile. Maybe you have a screenshot?

On:, press and hold any of the social network icons (Facebook, Twitter, G+) in iOS (iPhone 6 here).

We don’t have any iphone to test. However this seems to be iphone functionality, not related to our plugin.

So, how does one viewing on a mobile device Share with those floating icons? In a desktop browser, it is shown upon mouse-over… since you can’t mouse-over a mobile device’s icons to show the Share options of each social network, does the plugin provide some other way to Share via those floating icons? The mobile icons only take the viewer to the site’s social networking accounts — not allow them to Share on their own social networking accounts.

I know there is the ability to add it to the bottom of Posts, and share that way, but that is only on Posts — not Pages, correct? Or is that also a Premium feature?

I can share fine with it on Android (mobile).

Maybe don’t hold the button for a long time, just click on it quickly, like a normal user would.

Correct, with the Premium you can also show them at the bottom of pages. Or you try it in the free plugin via shortcode.

Again, for new topics, please open a new thread. So people who have similar questions can find it quickly. Thank you!

I retested and now the share function shows just fine upon a firm tap — I must have reset some feature/function in the settings and now the cache is cleared or something! Thanks… I’ll close this out, and start new if something else comes up.
